Here’s how it works:

STEP 1 – SIGN UP:

SPRING 2024 Consignor Registration Dates:

EARLY REGISTRATION – Friday, January 5th @ 8:00am

OPEN REGISTRATION – Monday, January 8th @ 8:00am

Consignors from the Fall 2023 and Spring 2023 sale will have the opportunity to register on Friday, January 5th starting at 8:00am.  You will receive an email with registration instructions.

Registration will open to the public on Monday, January 8th starting at 8:00am.  Further instructions will be on the “Register Here” tab.  Spots fill quickly!

Continuing the procedures of previous sales, there will be a non-refundable $12 consignor registration fee (to be paid with Paypal). (Registration fees are used to cover facility rental fees.  Consignor profits generally far exceed the registration fee…it’s just a drop in the bucket!). Payment is required at registration.

Want to avoid the $12 registration fee? You have two options!

  1.  Volunteer 3 shifts (this gets you lots of perks…shopping at the earliest time AND shopping a special 1/2 price preview sale Friday night)
  2. Volunteer for floor setup AND tear-down shift (Shift 1 and Shift 11) – Eligible until shifts are full.  More info HERE
  3. If waiving your registration fee, it will reimbursed to you with your consignor check.

STEP 3 – TAGGING INFO:

You will get your tags from your consignor account. Tags print 10 on one page, so when ordering tags, we recommend ordering at least 10, so that you fill up the entire page. Tags unused this sale can be used at the next sale! Any tags you order can be saved to your personal computer and reprinted for you to use.

TAGS

  • Print tags on CARDSTOCK.  Other paper will tear and you may not get credit for your sale. Do not print on construction paper! It is too porous and our scanners cannot read the bar code. (cardstock is for your own benefit!)
  • Price items in .50 cent increments.
  • Fill out tags thoroughly.

CLOTHING ITEMS

  • Using a safety pin, attach tag to the top right corner of clothing article.
    • Please do not put a punch hole in tag and then pin. Tags fall off when hole punched.
    • Please DO NOT STAPLE tag to clothes.
  • Hang clothes on wire hanger so that the curved side is facing left like a question mark and the tag is on the top right.  Wire hangers are required as plastic hangers make browsing through the racks very difficult. (TIP: many dry-cleaner businesses will offer free or very cheap hangers)

Athens Consignment Sale www.athensconsignmentsale.com

  • Use safety pins to attach garments to hangers so they don’t fall off and get lost!
    • Pants and skirts should be safety pinned to the top arms of the hanger for easy viewing and so they do not flop around.

NON-CLOTHING ITEMS

  • Secure loose parts of toys and/or games in a plastic bag. See Video
  • Puzzles, games etc. must have all pieces and be in good working condition. Tape boxes, DVD’s & games closed.  Put puzzle pieces in a ziplock bag.
  • Several small items (small toys or books) are best sold when grouped together in plastic bag and priced as a group.
  • Attach tag to the item or bag by placing a piece of clear packing tape (NO Scotch Tape) over the tag and over zip lock bag to assure that item will not be able to be opened.
  • Shoes should be fastened together with safety pins or zip ties, placed in plastic bag if possible, and a tag should be taped to the inside of each shoe (price on both tags).  See Video
  • Car seats, Pack n Plays, high chairs, diaper pails etc. must be clean and soil free.

***Consignors with excessive stains, holes, etc. or selling items in NON working, expired or missing pieces will not be allowed to consign again.***

STEP 4 – SORT:

Please sort your items by gender and size, then by shirts, dresses, pants, and outfits.  This is essential!  Consignors are responsible for placing all items on racks after volunteers have checked them…pre-sorting will make your job much easier!!

STEP 5 – DROP OFF:

Drop-off for the Spring 2024 sale: Wednesday, February 21, 12:30pm-7:00pm

Drop your tagged items off to Central Baptist Church during the designated drop-off time (any time between 12:30pm-7:00pm) and pick up your consignor preview sale ticket.  Be prepared for the possibility of waiting in line during busy times.  During drop-off, include a self-addressed and stamped envelope so that we can send you your check with your profits!

  • At drop-off, please include a bin or box with your consignor number and sort code written on the side.  This will be used to sort your items at the end of the sale and will make pickup quick and easy for you.  (If you do not plan on picking up your leftovers after the sale, you do not need to bring a bin.)
  • Please bring help and/or equipment if you have heavy items.  We can sometimes provide help, but during busy times, our volunteers are usually all doing stain-check so we can get consignors in and out as quickly as possible!

NOTE: We cannot accept your items after drop-off time.  Consignors who do not drop off their items during the designated time period are considered “no-shows” and will not be allowed to consign at future sales.  Please let us know in advance if you no longer wish to consign.  We have dozens of people on a waiting-list that would love your spot!
